Snap a photo of your meal, enter how many units you bolused, and the app pulls your blood glucose from Dexcom for the next 3 hours. The journal shows what happened to your sugar after every meal — over time you build a real memory of how foods affect you.
Open Settings inside the app → Connect to Dexcom. Use the same username and password you use for the Dexcom Share / Follow app. If you can log in there and still can't here, email me and I'll dig in.
Usually this happens when you log a meal right after opening the app, before your BG number has finished loading from Dexcom. The app backfills the chart in the background as long as you open it within ~24 hours of the meal — just sit on the home screen for ~30 seconds with Dexcom connected and it'll heal itself. If the meal is older than 24 hours, Dexcom's API has already rolled off the data and it's gone.
Yeah — Dexcom Share takes a few seconds to authenticate the first time per app session, then refreshes every 30 seconds after that.
No. It's a logging and tracking tool, not a medical device. It shows what happened so you (with your healthcare provider) can decide better next time.
A Dexcom Share connection is what powers the automatic 3-hour glucose chart. You can still log meals and bolus units without it, but the response chart depends on Dexcom data.
Right now: Dexcom Share only. Other integrations are on the roadmap — email me if you want one prioritized.
You can swipe to delete entries in the Journal, and tap the time at the top of a meal to fix a wrong timestamp. Full editing is on the roadmap.
In the Journal, tap the share icon in the top right. The app generates a CSV of all your meals — send it via Mail, AirDrop, save to Files, whatever you want.
Delete the app from your iPhone. Everything is stored locally — uninstalling wipes it for good. The app doesn't sync to iCloud.
Your meal log and Dexcom credentials stay on your device — there's no Diabetes Hacker server. The only thing that leaves your phone is the request to Dexcom's own servers when you have Dexcom Share connected. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
